black circles?

Does anyone know what these black circles in the middle of the Egyptian desert are? I could guess that the green ones are some sort of irrigated vegitation (in the desert?)

There's new Katamari footage. It looks like you get a roll around a ball of fire and a sumo wrestler(!) in the sequel. I'm definitely getting this game. I might even pre-order it.

I was thinking about the fact that it seems more likely that we'll see a hispanic supreme court justice before there will be an asian one. My view point might be skewed, but hispanics seem more politically active; besides David Wu and Judge Ito, i can't think of any other asian lawyer, judge or politician. Also, i never seem to hear of the asian voter block being courted but I've heard plenty of politicians try to speak spanish.
